Describe your Digital Marketing Agency
We start with positioning infrastructure before scaling distribution. Most agencies prioritize pipeline volume and channel optimization—we prioritize category clarity, differentiation architecture, and proof alignment. This prevents premature scale and ensures your GTM strategy is built on a defensible market position. We work primarily with seed-stage B2B SaaS companies ($2M–5M raised) who need strategic clarity before hiring sales teams.
When should a startup work with ShoutEx?
Work with us when you've raised seed funding but haven't yet defined your category narrative or built repeatable messaging. Ideal clients have product-market validation (10–50 customers) but struggle with inconsistent messaging, long sales cycles, or unclear differentiation. If you're about to hire your first sales reps or launch enterprise deals, positioning infrastructure should come first.
How do you approach positioning for B2B SaaS startups?
We use a three-component framework: category narrative (the market context that makes your solution relevant), differentiation architecture (which constraints you relax and tradeoffs you reconfigure), and proof alignment (customer logos and case studies that reinforce category and differentiation). We test positioning with target buyers, build messaging artifacts, and align proof before scaling content or hiring sales.
What's included in a typical engagement?
For seed-stage companies, we deliver: positioning framework documentation (category definition, differentiation map, competitive positioning), messaging architecture (sales talk tracks, objection handling, proof points), and initial content strategy (narrative validation, thought leadership roadmap). For Series A+ companies, we add demand generation at scale, category authority content, and sales enablement. Fractional CMO engagements include board-level strategic planning and metric frameworks.
Do you work with pre-seed or Series A+ companies?
Yes, but our approach varies. Pre-seed companies (pre-funding or <$1M raised) typically need MVP strategy and early positioning hypotheses. Seed-stage companies ($2M–5M) need full positioning infrastructure before distribution. Series A+ companies ($10M+) need category refinement, demand generation at scale, and competitive repositioning. We're most effective with companies that recognize positioning comes before scaling.
How long does it take to establish positioning infrastructure?
Positioning work typically takes 8–12 weeks to reach stability: 3–4 weeks for category research and buyer interviews, 3–4 weeks for messaging iteration and internal alignment, 2–4 weeks for proof validation and content testing. We don't recommend scaling distribution (paid ads, sales hiring, enterprise outreach) until positioning withstands competitive scrutiny and messaging remains consistent across channels.
What results should we expect?
Clear positioning reduces sales cycle length, increases win rates, and improves customer retention by attracting aligned buyers. Clients typically see: shorter, more predictable sales cycles (20–40% reduction), higher win rates through clearer differentiation (15–35% improvement), and stronger customer proof clustering (70%+ of customers in defined segment). The goal is not faster growth—it's sustainable, credible growth built on defensible market positioning.
